Brass Task Lamp with Glass Valet & Travertine Base
Brass Task Lamp with Glass Valet & Travertine Base
A sculptural assemblage of materials; brass, glass, and travertine are shaped as one to form an intriguing piece of lighting design. This is a rarely seen lamp is very much in the style of Leon Rosen’s work for Pace Collection. In fact, the overall motif and structural nuances of this object strongly suggest that it is indeed Rosen’s work, however due to lack of proper identification we can only attribute it to his style.
This lamp is quite substantial in both form and material. A brass ring reminiscent of jewelry rests atop a minimalist piece of polished travertine, two thick-stock brass cylinders rise out of the ring both with very different functions. The first cylinder rises at an angle to cradle a brass dish into which a gorgeous frosted glass globe is housed, the second cylinder presents a thick round piece of glass securely attached to the cylinder with a solid brass threaded knob. The design is dynamic in that the position of the valet is entirely adjustable, the glass can be turned into the center of the lamp or outward as shown in our photography. We’ve updated the electrical enabling a high/low light setting by way of the in-line rotary switch as well as installed a premium quality turned brass socket.
