Walnut & Brushed Brass Buffet Lamp
Walnut & Brushed Brass Buffet Lamp
Timelessness and simplicity are parallels which when achieved, result in a design that is eternally attractive. Walter von Nessen was one of the great lighting designers of the Mid-Century. Nessen’s sculptural aesthetic was minimalist yet his sense of materiality was quite playful, most evident in this stunning example of his work.
Standing tall is a slender column of exquisitely finished solid Walnut with handsome grain. The wood is elegantly contrasted by brushed brass metal hardware, the material paring was an expert design decision by Nessen who often explored unique materials in his body of work.
This lamp is designed with two-bulb laming controlled by the rotary turn knob switch installed onto the lamp’s brass base. Each bulb is housed in a ceramic socket and one can choose to receive light from one bulb, the other, or both simultaneously with the turn of the switch. The shown white linen shade is included with this piece. Dimensions listed account for the lamp to the top of the finial and inclusive of the shade diameter.
