There are a handful of furniture manufacturers known for their unique approach to design as well as their commitment to quality. It’s companies like these who’ve been able to survive through years of changes in style and aesthetic. One company that fits this mold is the famed Bernhardt Furniture Company, founded in 1889, and still in operation to this day. Having existed through countless eras of design, one highlight of their time was during the Mid-Century era when furniture was to be both stylish and functional. Such is true with this Rosewood and Lucite Sideboard which we’ve restored to perfection.

This Bernhardt design is an amazing assemblage of materials which we wanted to celebrate. Our team has completely refinished the wood on the piece which is a combination of six rosewood-faced cabinet doors with the rest an elegant walnut. The lucite supports have also seen restoration, each was removed and polished on both sides with a specialized compound resulting in lucite which is so clear it is almost transparent at the perfect angle. Lastly we removed each solid metal pull and hand polished them brilliantly. We are left with a renewed vintage Bernhardt design, a timeless celebration of exquisite materials with perfect proportions for a multitude of settings.
