Completely restored by Object Refinery; an elegant pair of petite club chairs by German Architect and Designer Otto Schulz (1882-1970). His prolific career in publication and design was primarily based in Gothenburg, Sweden where he founded his design shop Boet for which these chairs were produced.

Schulz' design language at the time was the exercise of traditional reaching for modernism. These petite club chairs in particular are very much Art-Deco, most likely a c. 1930 design, with exemplary proportions. Every inch of this careful design was clearly considered, the perfect arrangement of Schulz' signature nailheads, partially upholstered sculptural legs, the delicate "pouf" atop each generous arm; no detail has gone unnoticed. Their size affords them the ability to be placed in a multitude of spaces such as a bedroom, dressing room, a nook, a lounge, a living area, or just about any space in need of intimate seating.

Object Refinery takes details very seriously and has restored these chairs in-line with Schulz' original intentions. We used a timeless cotton velvet in Dark Chocolate in place of the original thoroughly patinated leather. The sequence of Antique Brass nailheads have all been carefully replaced just as we found the originals. The chairs' frames have been inspected and all areas in need of attention have been addressed. Lastly, and most importantly, each chair offers a down-filled seat cushion just as the originals did. The result of our work is a pair of exquisitely restored Club Chairs by Otto Schulz from the 1930's, built to live on for at least another lifetime
