When design is considered to be great it is often also timeless. To us, those two ideas are synonymous and we use this thinking in our worldwide pursuit of design objects. It is quite often that works from Italy fit these two marks, such as this petite settee which has undergone a complete restoration in the Object Refinery workroom. The swooping form and elegant lines inspired us to transform this piece and make it relevant for another lifetime.

This settee was brought down to its frame for a complete restoration. New springs and padding were installed beneath the new upholstery material ensuring longevity and comfort. Our team chose to stay true to the provenance of the settee by selecting fine Italian Velvet in the colors Cognac for the main fabric and Créme for an elegant contrast piping. From every angle this settee attracts attention and delight allowing it to stand free in a room without the need to stay tethered against a wall. This handsome color combination is the perfect complement to its walnut legs which have also been refinished. The result of our work is a timeless piece of Italian design, completely renewed for another generation of enjoyment. This piece’s delicate proportions make it perfect for an intimate nook or an area in need of unexpected seating.
