Boris Lacroix Style Adjustable Table Lamp
Boris Lacroix Style Adjustable Table Lamp
Forward thinking design of the Mid-Century, specifically with regard to lighting, has had continued relevance more so than other other aesthetic movement. It's the marriage of function and form which stands unparalleled and is still celebrated to this day. From France, the designer Jean Boris Lacroix developed a rich body of work in lighting design. His pieces were an absolute delight, utilizing relatable humanist forms, and in almost every case adjustable to the users' needs. With this petite lamp we have a design which is very much in the style of Lacroix' work, and while is very well could be his own, we cannot verify it with confidence.
This lamp is assembled from three primary components; two brass forms which together create a tripod and a crisp white shade. As shown in our photography, this lamp can either stand tall for ambient light or descend downward for intimate task lighting. The adjustment can be made with ease by simply sliding the petite legs along the center "neck". The neck of the lamp ends with a generous brass weighted ball while the legs are tapered down toward diminutive brass balls; all of which enable the lamp to safely glide around one's space of work. A ball-bearing connects the brass base with the enameled white shade allowing the light to be directed in any which way. The shade is delicately perforated with petite stars, a nod to light as it exists in nature. The finishes on this lamp have been retained as originally executed.
Our team has thoroughly polished the lamp and the electrical is fully functional. Dimensions listed below are a record of this lamp standing in a tall position, the height can decrease per one's desire.
