Florence Knoll End Tables in Glass, Pair
Florence Knoll End Tables in Glass, Pair
Modern day obsession with Mid-Century design wouldn't exist if not for the momentous efforts of Florence Knoll. The most significant chapter in Knoll’s life was spent devoted to her namesake company. Her work at Knoll in cultivating the world’s talent in the fields of design & architecture resulted in one of the most timeless collections of furniture design still revered today. Florence Knoll was also one of the first designers of commercial space, her “Planning Unit” team took on projects for clients such as IBM, Connecticut General Life, CBS, and Look Magazine.
It was during these years in interior design when Knoll required furniture which in some cases simply did not exist, her response to such problem was simple: design it. With that, she created what may be one of the most iconic furniture collections of our time. Her Sofas, Lounge Chairs, and Tables such as these, are beloved symbols of mid-century design still used in homes & offices alike.
Florence Knoll’s suite of tables are perhaps the most recognizable her designs. The signature chromed steel frame on this pair of end tables remain in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and history. The two tables feature their original 5/8” thick glass which is a proportionally perfect match to their frames. Each table is incised with KnollStudio accompanied by Florence Knoll’s signature. These are an excellent addition to a modernist’s home as a generous coffee table cluster or split apart for use as end tables.
